A luxury Bentley golf cart was among a fleet of supercars seized by police at a Welsh traveller's camp on Wednesday.

Following dawn raids involving 20 police officers, a white Range Rover Sport, a red Ferrari California T and a Bentley Continental golf cart were removed from the site.

The raid formed part of Operation Purple Barracuda, which targeted drugs traffickers, sex offenders, forced labour and illegal drivers across the Cardiff area.

"It was more like a luxury car showroom than an average caravan site," one police officer remarked.

The gold Bentley golf cart is the same model owned by the world's most bankable sportsperson, Floyd Mayweather.

14 people were arrested in raids across three Welsh locations, as part of efforts to tackle organised criminal gangs. South Wales Police, the National Crime Agency and British Transport Police took part in the raids.

The Range Rover Sport may be worth around £90,000, while the Ferrari California T could be worth up to £160,000.

The high-end vehicles were found at Shirenewton caravan site, a traveller site managed by Cardiff City Council.

Police found sums of money along with possible victims of forced labour – who were taken to a secure site.

A police spokesperson said: "This was a collaborative effort to dismantle organised crime groups within the city of Cardiff.

"Three locations in Shirenewton, New House Farm and Newport Road were involved and a variety of offences were identified including the high-value extraction of electricity, potential forced labour offences, high-value theft, money laundering and seizures of cash and high-value vehicles."
