Triumph Motorcycles has released a teaser video clip ahead of the launch of the all-new water-cooled Bonneville range, which will arrive officially on October 28.
The clip goes through the illustrious past of the Bonneville, from its roots in 1959 right up until the present day.
The video, which is largely comprised of images of Bonnevilles over the decades – including a great many obscure close ups – does not give much away as regards what the new Bonneville range will look like.
Motorcycle journalists in the UK and around the world have been trying to get spy shots of the new bike, with limited success. Motorcycle News clocked David Beckham on a modified top-end Bonneville which boasts the new 1100cc engine. The England football legend was promoting a short film by Belstaff at the time.
The Bonneville revamp is expected to be all-encompassing, with products that aim to be the new gold standard in retro motorbikes within the realms of performance and high-tech wizardry. The designers have apparently kept to the 1960s styling even more faithfully than in previous models.
It is believed the new range will feature two completely new engines – an 865cc and an 1100cc – both featuring water-cooling technology that will underpin the bikes' performance and ensure it does not come a cropper in the face of future emission regulations.
